Need some ideas for your next event? Here are some of our favourite styles to inspire you.
A classic style is of course, ‘Gold’. This rich, opulent look always has a place and is the perfect way to add glamour to any event. Gold styling can make your event look expensive and decadent. We have an endless supply of gold props and accessories. Here we have centred this look around our large gold mirror, a focal point such as this is a great item to work off and draw inspiration from. We have layered this with a velvet drape in mustard and one of our large seven prong candelabras. Our Perspex mirror table runner and collection of golden bottles with white ostrich feathers were used to dress the table. Gold charger plates, white rose balls and golden columns help to finish off this luxurious look.
‘Garden Party’ is another fresh and fun theme to play with. Our favourite item from our prop library is the floral wall. This a beautiful panel full of delicate pink and purple flowers in an ombre style from light to dark and blending into lush ivy. We also love the look of jars, milk bottles and vases suspended at different heights and filled with flowers. Old recycled cans also make for the perfect vase, alongside additions of crates, white lanterns, florals, wrought iron furniture, cane birdcages and timber stepping stones.
Moroccan styling is a great way to inject colour into any event. With the rise in popularity of events such as ‘The Colour Run’ we have seen a trend growing towards this more exotic and rich styling aesthetic. We have a vast range of items to help you achieve this fun look. Our Bedouin furniture adds texture and goes with any colour palette. Our draping is a great way to cover a space along with our wonderful lights which have endless possibilities as to how they can be hung and styled. Our velvet patch ottomans and cushions add that rich, deep burst of colour and luxury alongside several other props we have available to add the perfect finishing touch.
This year Monochrome is still alive and well, taking over the runways, interior design and of course event styling. It’s a classic and will always be popular, it’s more the elements and features which change. Black and white table settings are an easy way to create a sophisticated and stylish setup. Here we have used our black and white striped table runners, black fish bowl vases, black and white candelabras and white tiffany chairs adorned with black ribbon. We have added another element to create depth and interest by using silver charger plates and soft pink peonies.
Vintage is also a popular styling look that has continued into 2015. We are now seeing more of a utilitarian influence trickle down via the runways from designers such as Valentino and Marc Jacobs. A number of designers including Dries Van Noten and Prada are also using vintage fabrics within their collections too, suggesting that the vintage trend is still going strong. We have taken these influences and styled a cosy setting, using our vintage suitcases as a coffee table with our Louis arm chairs, calico mannequins, vintage screens and our bookcase flat to finish off the look.
