August was a jam packed month for the team at The Prop House. From competing in a styling contest to our very own director acknowledged for her achievements in business; it was so great to be involved in an array of events that showcased our capabilities as a company so well. Read on for full details on the month’s highlights – we apologise if you feel a little exhausted by the end!
Our first event of the month was St Aidan’s Foundation Annual Lunch 2016. The signature event hosted special guests Sarah-Jane Clarke, Joanna Strumpf and Meg Rylance in a Q&A forum. Sarah-Jane Clarke, creator of Sass & Bide, looked very much at home on our white peacock chair. A ladies luncheon was the concept behind the theming – pretty florals and white furniture kept the mood light and vibrant. This style could easily translate into a Hapmtons theme or a Melbourne Cup lunch.
Seven stylists, one venue! With so much creativity under the one roof The 2016 Style Masters was going to be a success from the get go! Only forty-five minutes was allowed for us to completely style our section of the venue. Our team were out in force as we turned Mirra’s foyer into a Christmas Wonderland. Fairy lights, centrepieces and a three metre slimline tree chewed up our time however, we did finish with two minutes on the clock, just enough to stand back and appreciate our hard work. It was a real delight to see what other Brisbane stylists brought to the table – we look forward to seeing what next year’s challenge will be!
Following on from Style Masters 2016 was Rydges’ South Bank wedding showcase. Rydges opened their extraordinary venue to brides-to-be as they inspected the venue’s magnificent spaces. Our pallet bars and “LOVE” looked magical against the Brisbane City skyline. When a fantastic venue and beautiful theming come together, you know you’re on to a good thing.
Great entrance statements set the tone of an event – it’s the first thing that guests see. The recent magazine launch of stellar at Lightspace Brisbane is a prime example of doing just this. A custom made media wall and a larger than life sized edition of the mag was a simplistic and effective way to announce the launch of the magazine. We loved working with the team at White + White Weddings and Events and Select Audio Visual on this project.
Last but certainly not least – The Prop House director, Jano Dawes, was the good news story of the month! She was recently acknowledged for her business achievements, and as you can see from above it’s not hard to see why! Jano made the final three of the Brisbane Women in Business Awards as she was recognised for being an inspiring innovator, visionary and business leader.
